Khairil is a lead developer of corruption issue tracker at Sinar Project. Sinar Project uses open source technology, development and ideas to make Malaysian government transparent and accountable. Open government involves several related and connected applications that help to improve transparency, governance and citizen involvement. Sinar Project is a collection of related open source projects which consists of open data providers as well as applications that make information accessible to Malaysian citizens. We are a non-profit project and non-partisan.

Sinar project makes the information and tools available freely and reusable by all.

A Ph.D. candidate at the University of Montana, is working in Malaysia to save the species from extinction. Known as “Sun Bear Man” in some circles, Siew Te Wong is setting up the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC) in Sabah, a Malaysian state on the island of Borneo. The project aims to save sun bears, which have largely overlooked by conservationists, through research, education, rehabilitation, and habitat conservation. Wong’s efforts are partially supported by the Wildlife Conservation Network (WCN), an innovative group that uses a venture capital model to protect some of the world’s most endangered species.

Kevin Mark Low was born in Malaysia and educated in the United States, received degrees in architecture from the University of Oregon (1988), and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1991). After ten years of work in a corporate firm in Kuala Lumpur, he established smallprojects in 2002, and has been in sole practice since. He has lectured in Asia, Oceania and Europe, and has been involved as a visiting critic in universities internationally. His work has been published in architectural editions of Interior Design (U.S.A.) and A+U (japan).
He has contributed articles to architectural journals regionally and his recent book, smallprojects (oro group 2010) is currently being distributed in architectural bookstores internationally.

Myshkin is co-founder of Biosense Technologies, a medical device venture focusing on point of care non-invasive diagnostics. He is a TED 2012 Fellow. In the past, he has worked at Mckinsey & Company as a business consultant and been a researcher affiliated to MIT’s Senseable City Lab. He holds a FPM (PhD) in Management Information Systems from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta and a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Bhopal.

A largely self-taught photographer, Zann Huizhen Huang began her first serious foray into photojournalism after the tsunami in January 2005.

Zann has covered humanitarian and socio-political issues in restricted areas. Her works have been published in Time magazine, Le Monde, Geo Italia, L’expresso and other publications in the US, Europe and Asia.

She has also covered “Mental Health Issues” in Singapore and was featured in the Asia Exposed 2 series in late Sept 2011 on Channel News Asia. Zann’s works have garnered numerous international awards – UNICEF photographer of the Year 2007 (Honourable Mention), International Photographer of the Year (16 Honourable Mentions from 2006 – 2011), UNESCO Humanity Photo Award 2006 and 2009, PX3 Prix De La Photographie Paris 2007 (Honourable Mention), 2010 – 1st for Wedding and 2nd for Portraiture Category and one honourable mention for Politics Category and in 2011- 2 bronze awards for her work on the Palestinian Refugees and Cambodian Glue Kids and Le Grand Prix Care International du Reportage Humanitaire Award 2007 – Top 5 finalists. Zann’s works were exhibited at the Noorderlicht Photofestival 2006, VISA POUR L’IMAGE Photojournalism festival at Perpignan, France in 2007, Singapore Season 2007, New York Photo Festival 2009, Espace Dupon in Paris 2010 and Singapore’s Gallery 2902 in 2009. Her child labor project in collaboration with the ILO-International Labour Organization was exhibited in Holland 2010.

Her works on Iran was shown at Reportage Australia in 2010 and the 7th Angkor Photo Festival 2011. Zann has also spoken about her self-initiated and self-funded projects at TEDx Singapore 2012.

Originally a professional musician and circus clown, Derek Sivers created CD Baby in 1998. It became the largest seller of independent music online, with $100M in sales for 150,000 musicians. In 2008, Derek sold CD Baby for $22M, giving the proceeds to a charitable trust for music education. He is a frequent speaker at the TED Conference, with over 5 million views of his talks. In 2011, he published a book which shot to #1 on all of its Amazon categories. Derek Sivers lives in Singapore, where he is creating his next company.
