Nazery Khalid is a Malaysian-based maritime analyst and consultant who has presented talks and papers at many global seminars and conferences on a wide range of issues and topics in the maritime industry.
A Senior Fellow at the Maritime Institute of Malaysia (MIMA), a policy think-tank where he served from 2004 to 2014, Nazery headed the Centre for Maritime Economics and Industries and was also Research Coordinator at the institute.
Nazery has published over 120 articles, research papers and commentaries which have appeared in various online and publications, including journals and book chapters. He has published his research on ship financing and multi-modal transport development in Malaysia and was the editor of two proceedings of international conferences on the Straits of Malacca. He has conducted training on ports, shipping, ship financing and supply chain management, and consulted in maritime and logistics projects.
Nazery taught Maritime Economics to MBA in Shipping Management students at Universiti Industri Selangor (UNISEL) in Malaysia, and was a Visiting Scholar at the Logistics and Operations Management Section at Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University, Wales in 2010, University Paris Diderot, France in 2011, and Jinan University, Guangzhou, China in 2013.
Nazery holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Ottawa University, Kansas, USA and an MBA from International Islamic University, Malaysia.
