Around 10 years ago, Premesh Chandran and Steven Gan founded what is known as model for online independent journalist across the world. MalaysiaKini covers mostly local political news attracts over 37 Million page view and it is one of the top sites that helped changed the political landscape in Malaysia. Malaysiakini has been recognised with awards from Asiaweek, Businessweek, International Press Institute and many more. Premesh also lead South East Asian Centre for E-media (Seacem) which is a not for profit organization that aims to assist and grow online media in the region. Premesh also spoke at the TED2010 Conference in New York, USA.
