Surech Kuppusamy

Surech is a passionate mountain climber, who aims to bring the realities, excitement and challenges of the high altitude mountaineering to the audience in this talk. He will walk the audience through the phases of his inspiration, preparation, and completing a particular challenge in Mountaineering and on how to adopt to apply the lesson to the great challenge of life. He began climbing recreationally at the age of 16 at the local hills and rock faces and went on to climb some major alpine and Himalayan peaks with the latest being Mount Cho Oyu (8201M) in Tibet and Mount Gasherbrum (8034M) in Pakistan. He was also the first and the only Malaysian to have climbed in major expedition in the Karakoram mountain Range, reputed to be most rugged mountain range in the world and is virtually inaccessible. He aims to climb all fourteen peaks in the world which are above 8000 meters as his next challenge. When he is not climbing, he performs his daily duties of an aeronautical consultant engineer with a major airline. He also enjoys motorcycles riding, traveling, and dancing tango.
